Seagate launches Wireless Plus portable storage you can access wirelessly

Seagate is not new to wireless portable hard drives. They had their first one last year in the form of theGoFlex Satellite. The just-launched Wireless Plus builds on the GoFlex Satellite but adds more much-needed functionality aside from bigger storage.
Seagate Wireless Plus
The Seagate Wireless Plus is first and foremost your ordinary portable USB 3.0 hard drive. Then again, it has its own battery to broadcast its own wireless network. Connect to this network to upload/download or stream content while you’re on the go. Or you can also connect it to your home network if you wish to do so.
You can connect a multitude of devices from laptops, to tablets, to smartphones. When connecting to your smartphone or tablet, you need the Seagate Media App (iOS, Android, Kindle HD) to navigate the contents of the Wireless Plus with an easy-to-use UI. If you don’t have the app, you can always use your mobile browser to access the Wireless Plus.
It can handle 8 simultaneous connections although that will eat up the battery which is rated at 10 hours fairly quick. It can also handle 3 simultaneous Full HD video stream without bogging down. You can also upload content and files which is something that’s missing from their GoFlex Satellite.
The Wireless Plus also has this internet pass-through feature. When connected to the Wireless Plus, you can still have your device connect to a different wireless network (setting can be found in the Seagate Media app) for your internet needs so you don’t have to switch between networks when you want to watch a movie or use Facebook.
Seagate Wireless Plus SATA
As with other Seagate GoFlex portable drives, the Wireless Plus comes with a SATA connection with an included USB 3.0 adapter. You can also purchase other adapters if you want a Firewire or Thunderbolt connection instead.
The Seagate Wireless Plus comes in only 1TB capacity and will retail for Php9,950 once it becomes available at the Seagate Concept Store in SM Megamall early next month.
